The Gardnerville Tulsa field was the center of action as top eight (8) clubs in the 3rd Division in the Gardnerville Sub-Association were invited to participate in 1st YAZZ Community Sports Gala 2017 , to compete for the ultimate title of YAZZ Community Sports Gala champions over the weekend of Saturday 27th May 2017 .
The YAZZ Community Sports Gala was sponsored by Laxxxta –Liberia was a tournament ,held by the company as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program for Liberia , the company since its establishment in Liberia in 2011 , after 6 year has realize to give-back to Liberia for their commitment to using their brand of products .
The final of the match was between Baako FC and Topside RC ,the game winner was decided on a penalty shot of 4-3 going to BAAKO , after playing very well in the tournament ,they were very impressive–BAAKO FC took the giant trophy at stake and a whopping 15,000.00 LD as winner .With Topside and Blue Angel taking the 1st and 2nd place respectively with 10,000.00 and 5,000.00 LD cash prize as well as products from YAZZ for their entire team .
Speaking to the media, Managing Director of Yazz Mr. Martin Brobbey, said the company was using these programs to say “Thank you, to Liberia for patronizing their product over the year” and also give back to Liberia he added. We also disclosed plans of the company to invest into other area of the Liberian economy, sports at the national level , education , entertainment as well setting up a foundation to support education .A 3 man delegation- Mr. Martin Brobbey and Logistic and Operation manager , Gideon Danso, and the Marketing Manager ,Seth Nitamoah Asare from Ghana are in the country to see the level support the company can render to Liberian as they operates in Liberia .
The company will also embark on sharing education material during the week from May 29th to selected school in Monrovia as part of the program to give back to Liberians for buying the company products , in all over approximately $ 70,000 USD is been used to ensure this program reach Liberians , distributing free products such as calendar ,house products –toothpaste, soaps ,
The winner of the one-day football jamboree will walk away with a giant size trophy plus cash prize. Fabulous prizes are also at stake for the second and third place winners. YAZZ spokesperson Ekow Jones-Mensah told Liberiasportsonline.com that “the company will use the occasion to interact with Liberians about their products on the local market” .
