BYC adds Mustapha Lomell to squad

Barrack Young Controller is delighted to announce the signing of Mustapha Lomell from Nimba United on a two-year contract, with an option to extend for further years.

The 19-year-old former Nimba County striker joined the senior team on their preseason training after both Nimba United and BYC agreed the hit man transfer fee on Thursday December 21, 2017.

The goal getter played a key role in Nimba United 2016/ 2017 LFA league season performance as he came second to BYC’s Van-Dave Harmony in the race for the LFA Golden Boot.The known tough striker, who can play on either wings and as a supporting striker score two of Nimba United’s Goals at Blue Field when they beat BYC in 2nd phase of the league last season at the blue field.

Following the capture of the striker he was introduced to his new teammates Friday, December 22, 2017 by the Club President Sekou Konneh who expressed the club delight in securing the services of the former Nimba United Forward and called on players of the team to welcome him at the club.

For his part CEO Robert A. Sirleaf said the club has been monitoring the striker for the past three years and feels he is one of the best attackers in Liberia.”Lomell naturally fit the BYC system. He is a big personality, and an excellent player. It is only natural that he wants to develop his career at one of the biggest club in the country. He will be a great addition to the group and I know they will make him very welcome.

According to the CEO their signing of Lomell is the club’s Commitment to the players to bring in the best players in the country.Lomell said, “I would like to start by thanking Nimba United and the fans for the last two wonderful seasons, I have made some special friends and we have shared some amazing moments. However, when BYC and coach Robert Lartey came knocking at the door it is an opportunity of a lifetime and one that I could not turn down.

“You could see the fight, determination, and the spirit in this team last season in the CAF Champions League and I want to become a part of that. I cannot wait to run out at Blue Field in front the lovely fans: But before that, pre-season is where the hard work starts, and I am looking forward to that first training session.”

Lomell first game in the colors of the Go Blue Boys will be in friendly match on Saturday December 23, 2017 against Samira FC at the blue field.BYC has now signed 11 players this season in a move to challenge for the title this season.
