FAKE News : Executive Mansion declares Timothy Weah donation news as false

Liberia Sports online has stumbled on news circulating on social media in Liberia about President Weah’s son donation to COVID 19 fight in Liberia.

The government is appalled by the latest round of fake news on social media which alleges that Timothy Weah, son of President George M. Weah, made donations of 2 million dollars to the Government of Liberia. This information is not only completely untrue, but also another machination by politicians designed to foster their selfish agenda, and comes at a time when we are all focused on a common enemy: Coronavirus

The young soccer star, who followed in the footsteps of his father, is currently undergoing rehabilitation in the United States after suffering an injury in France where he plays professional football.

Timothy empathizes with all Liberians given the crisis the country faces and has been regularly in touch.

But the latest round of fake news is another needless distraction not just for him, but the whole country because we ought to be focused on COVID-19 and threat it poses to Liberia.
