Former Muscat FC midfielder Irvin Gbotoe has joined Barrack Young Controllers junior club (BYC-II) on a two-year deal for undisclosed fees with an option to further extend his contract for a year.
According to a release from BYC, the midfielder’s decision to join the club was based on their organization as compared to other clubs. Midfielder Gbotoe, who featured for Bong County in the 2018 National County Sports Meet, was a target of several clubs. “Gbotoe brings lot of qualities to the team and is a player with great ambition similar to BYC Football and we wish him all the best at BYC,” club President Nathaniel Sherman said.
Reacting to the news of his new signing, coach Mouctar Fofana, also a former coach of Muscat FC told BYC media “Gbotoe will complement our other midfielders’ qualities, which we need; his creative brain and passing vision will give us another dimension to our game. I am very happy he is joining our club and I believe our players know how important he can be in our team.”
Meanwhile midfielder Gbotoe said he is delighted to be a part of the club and to play under the guidance of coach Fofana once again.“I could wait to get started and to meet my new team-mates, they showed me a lot of love and made me feel at home during my first session with the club. I would like to thank everyone at Muscat FC for everything they have done for me over the years. This is a very exciting time for me with my focus now fully on the national league,” he said.
