The Liberia Amputee Football Federation has elected new corps of officers to steer the affairs of the organization for the next four years.It can be recalled that Liberia amputee team has held on to the Africa champions for some time now ,but 90% of that team members has vanish from the country .
They apparently represented Liberia in an Ebola Tournament in the United States and absconded, there has been serious rigmarole between acting president Richard Duo and the one legged players.But the Triple African champions (2009, 2011, 2013) on Friday, May 25, 2018 under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth and sports peaceably participated in a democratic process at SKD in Paynesville to bring on board new leadership.
Cooper D. George replaced acting president Richard Duo while Jonathan G. Wehyee was elected as Vice President for Administration, Samuel T. Tengbeh as Vice President for Operation.Emmanuel Y. Brown and Emmanuel Nyumah were elected as Secretary General and Treasurer respectively.
The Election Committee Chair and Kickball President, Yorvor Kollie presenting the results said all the candidates won on white ballots.Youth and sports Minister, D. Zeogar Wilson and Deputy Sports Minister, G. Andy Quamie have welcomed the results and promised to work along with the new team.
Minister Zeogar noted that his office remains open and looks forward to a leadership that will keep the path of winning more trophies and accolades for the country.
While Deputy Sports Minister Quamie emphasized the need for unity if the federation is to maintain her international record.
