LISCR FC Manager, Tapha Manneh has seen Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) has his major contender ahead of the 2017/ 2018 Liberia Football Association (LFA) First Division league.
“The “Go Blue Boys” have always gone for the best players in the country and it seems they have the financial backup than all the teams,” Coach Manneh believed.
Gambian technician told Liberiasportsonline.com sources that BYC has everything going to be a contender in the next top flight championship chase. The three-time LFA domestic league Champions has signed 10 potential players ahead of the start of the new league season.BYC was able to captured the signatures of James Walatee , John Jaysay, Didier Sossa, Jeremy Saygbe and Alpha Jalloh all from FC Fassell.
He pointed out: “That the senior ‘Go Blue Boys’ have secures the services of the most skillful players in league last season, most especially the upfront.” Others signing include; Fallah Sheriff of (LISCR FC), Eugene Swen of (Keitrace FC), Abdulai Koulibaly of (MC Breweries) as well as Carlos Williams and Kelvin Potis cane from Watanga FC.With these calibers of players, the LISCR FC manager has confessed that BYC is not the only obstacle to his title ambition.
The 52 year-old, said “well BYC is a big team and they are investing money in football and they are the former champions, so I give them respect but they are not the only obstacle,” he said,In terms of form it depends on the coaching style.
Manneh during his first Liberia FA domestic league season won it double with LISCR FC, the Championship where the “Shipping Boys” ended with 42 points out of 22 league games and the Liberia FA Cup. He compared LISCR FC with BYC performance of last league season, it is the “Shipping Boys” that have edge over BYC; out of a back-to-back meeting they drew one and won the second leg 1-0.
The club announced quite recently that they have secured the services of defensive duo, Arona Jabang and Adama Sabally, forward Bully Drammeh from Real de Banjul, in addition to striker Mustapha Njie from Bombada for an undisclosed amount. The Gambians signed three-year deals each with the Shipping Boys.The new acquisitions mean that the club has added eight new names to their list since the close of the 2016-17 season.
They have brought in Amadiah Kawah from Keitrace Football Club and former BYC players Mark Paye and Hilton Varney on a free transfer. Defensive midfielder Benjamin Doe was also promoted from their youth team, Gardnersville Football Club.Liberia’s “Best Defender” Kemoh Kamara has been captured by LISCR FC also.
LISCR won the 2016-17 Liberia first division league and the FA Cup. They set a new record in Liberian football by becoming the only club to win the league unbeaten, playing 22 matches to win the First Division League. Their only defeat was in the semifinals of the FA Cup when the narrowly lost 3-2 to Keitrace FC in the first leg.
