The Liberia FA has confirmed the extension of its sponsorship with Orange Liberia for three more years valued approximately one million United States dollars (US$1 million) for the national football league .
The deal will also cater to employees of the Liberia FA particularly , in this deal Orange will also provide US$520 monthly credit to the mobile numbers of LFA employees as disclosed in the media release via the official social media[Facebook] platform of the Liberia FA.
Liberia sportsonline ,interview with some stakeholders who want to remain anonymous said ,”this benefit to the employees of the FA is not fair looking at the clubs that run the clubs in the league “. Many fans despite appreciating the sponsorship gesture by the telecommunication but frown on why the clubs did not considered to get such benefit apart from the cash given to clubs for supporting the running of the clubs . The signing ceremony was graced by LFA Vice Presidents Sekou Konneh and Wilmot Smith, Orange-Liberia Director of Governmental, Legal and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer Cllr. Supu Cole and Orange-Liberia Chief Marketing and Communications officer Julien Paquier.
It further revealed that the Liberia FA will also have free internet and wifi connectivity for the Liberia FA Secretariat of (10 megabytes), a US$80,000 towards the national team and US$15,000 to cover the printing of national team tickets.
Orange will also provided L$2.5 million for the LFA awards flagship award program with a free text messaging and voting platform for the LFA Awards.The package also include a marketing and branding activities to be by Orange for football fan at matches ‘ fans identifying themselves’ from random photos and posted on the Orange Facebook page.
