Lonestar registers 1 nil victory against Leone Stars of Sierra Leone

Liberia’s Lone Star was in action ahead of their major encounter for the year, as part of a preparation process . It was quite nerve racking as James Debbah side registered a 1 nil victory  in Monrovia in the  friendly international on Monday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

The match which was balance in the 1st half saw much incursion by the Lonestar into their opponent side , making more ways in the midfield but it ended goalless , both them were at their alertness . The only goal of the game was scored in the 78th minutes of the 2nd half,  by Christopher Bigman Jackson of LISCR football club assisted by Terrence Tisdell of Fassell FC.

But Boison Wynney de Souza, Sylvanus Nimely, and Varney Kallon were  the only foreign-based players making the lineup for Lonestar of Liberia .The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone also presented 3 professional from outside Sierra Leone , Khalifa Jabbie  from winning the treble with FC Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova, Finland-based Tornion Pallo striker Thomas Koroma, and Austria-based midfielder George Davies on loan to Floridsdorfer AC from German second-tier side Greuther Fürth 1903  were in the squad for the match .However, the team was also dominated mainly by home-based players. The match was newly appointed coach John  Keister’s first encounter since replacing Sellas Tetteh in May.

The action point of the match was the introduction of  Boison Wynney Souza , he replaced goalie Tommy Sango of LISCR FC ,the new goalie played 43 minutes . The visitors did not post much of a threat to the 20 year-old keeper ,has a Liberian Father and a Spanish-Brazilian mother. He was relaxed in post , he was notice about his ability was a good throw and kicking ability .He plays his trade with  Spanish 2nd Division for CD Llosetense.Looking at his agility he might be the first choice for the match against the Brave Warriors this Sunday in Harare .

The defeat register’s the new assigned coach of  the Sierra Leone , John Keister , first in charge of the Sierra Leone side that are preparing to face Kenya in the 2019 Africa Nations Cup first-leg qualifier in Freetown on June 10.
