Newcastle United midfielder Mohammed Sangare has been included in Coach Thomas Kojo’s 13-man foreign based squad ahead of Liberia 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. The Lone Star will take on the Democratic Republic of Congo on 9th September 2018 in Monrovia. Sangare, 19 plays for the Newcastle U23 side which plays in the Premier League Reserve League.
Newcastle United are delighted with the progress of young midfielder Mo Sangare.The 6ft 3in midfielder is described by the club as a box-to-box player who has progressed from the Academy to United’s Under-23 side this season.
Mo Sangare played in 12 games last season at second string level and netted three goals to impress his coaches. Sangare was handed a contract last year after a successful trial with the Under-18s and is continuing to show his quality.The 19-year-old will look to use the Under-23 team as a platform to impress further with a number of youngsters currently on loan to EFL clubs.
The player was born in Monrovia but moved to England at the Age of 14’’ and has been desperate to represent his land of birth. His huge form last season for The Magpies reserved has caught the attention of Newcastle United Manager Rafa Benitez who has labeled praises on the teenager, and that would path a way for possible promotion for the Newcastle first team this season. Sangare plays primarily as a defensive midfielder. He joined Newcastle reserved at the age of “14”, from where he started his career as a youth prospect.
