News reaching Liberiasportsonline , can confirm that Nimba County sports team has safely arrived in Lofa capital city of Voinjama .
Our source with the team revealed that the team travelled approximately travelling for eighteen (18) hours by road from Ganta,Nimba County, the Mountain Defenders have finally arrived in Voinjama,Lofa County.
The teams left from Nimba on Thursday, January 2 at about 1:56 PM and reached Lofa County at 7:15 AM on Friday 3 January.
According to reporter Nya Flomo Jr.,the late arrival of the Nimbaians was as a results of several breakdowns encountered on the highway. The first breakdown took place in Sokopa,a small town bounding Nimba from Bong, when the White Nissan Patrol Jeep which belongs to Chairman Adonis D. Menlor, had a minor engine problem. The vehicle had been carrying few members of the Sports Steering Committee, sports reporters and foodstuffs for the teams. However, the situation was easily handled as they pick up again.
Reporter Flomo, further disclosed that they had another stop after passing Gbarnga,Bong County while targeting Lofa around a small village ( name unknown), this time an iron under one of the buses carrying the players was broken. Therefore, the conductor of the bus had to take the metal way back to Gbarnga for welding which took them almost three hours waiting. The problem was finally resolved and they eventually set up for Zorzor.
Moreover, after passing Zorzor,a tyre of another bus boarded by players dislocated and almost jump from the car. This was the most terrible experience they had on this journey. Notwithstanding, the tyre was positioned although there was few moments of delay.
Despite the tough circumstances and challenges, the delegation safely landed in Voinjama this morning at about 7:15 AM, with the players and everyone on board secured and healthy, even though, they’ll need some times to rest before doing anything.
