Patrick Wleh settles in Malta

Liberia’s  towering striker Patrick Wleh has pen a deal with  Malta’s most successful club, Floriana FC.  The club has won 25 top flight crowns, 20 FA Cups, and are the only club from Malta that have played in the UEFA champions league, 1993/’94 season in their 124 years history.

The dangerman has finally landed in Europe after an unsuccessful try years back in Israel, as a LISCR property.The Malta giants ended fifth last season, and Coach Giovani Tedesco from Italy will be hoping their Liberian frontman get them to the top by ensuring his boot renew contact with the net.

But, while the Logan town raised striker must be hailed for the swift move to Malta after being offloaded by Egyptian club Petro Jet,
it is worth noting that his move from Egypt to Malta is an option to save his ailing career despite many pundit thinks he should be look at

With a huge monthly salary of US 100,000.00 in Egyptian premier league to the premier league of Malta where he might not earn more than  US 25,000.00, the former Gedi&Sons finisher has gone to a very low league.

Wleh joined the club as a free agent after spending the last five years as professional footballer in Malaysia. He departed Liberia in 2012 and completed a deal with then Malysian Premier League club, Sime Darby Football Club where his performance made him the target of many clubs in Malaysia. He scored 19 goals in 20 games for Sime Darby during the 2013 Malaysia Premier League season and moved to PKNS FC in 2014.

Wleh joined PKNS before the 2014 season on a year’s deal with the option of extension, completing a successful 2014 season with the club and signing an additional three years. The former LISCR FC striker played the 2015 Malaysian Super League season with PKNS and joined state rivals., Selangor FC, prior to the 2016 season after PKNS was relegated from the top flight of Malaysian football.

At the end of the one-year loan with Selangor, he returned to PKNS to complete his final season. The club opted not to extend his contract at the end of 2017 and he became a free agent. He scored 45 goals in 75 appearances for PKNS and 11 goals in 21 appearances for Selangor FA.

After being released by PKNS FC, Wleh came close to completing a deal with Egyptian Premier League Club Ismaily Soccer Club but failed to seal the move after both parties couldn’t agree on terms.

He is expected to join his new teammates for the pre-season in July ahead of the 2018-19 Egyptian League Season.

Wleh was recently the subject of a sex tape scandal, where he was the star of three leaked sexual videos involving three separate women, including his wife.

According to the International Federation of History and Statistics (IFFHS) 89 countries listing of World Best leagues, 2017, Malta
is ranked 87, as they are only above Montenegro and Congo, while the North African nation of Egypt remain second in Africa and 32
in the world. Tunisia remain Africa’s leading league at 24 th spot.
