Plans to remove Liberia FA Sec. General exposed ? -6 K spent on 1 EX-Co meeting

The LFA on Tuesday spent US$6,000.00 on 12 members of the Executive Committee just to discuss a letter written by the General Secretary, Isaac Montgomery to FIFA complaining the two VPs and EC Henry Flomo for interfering in his work.

This amount excludes President Mustapha I.Raji who has since waved all his benefits to the local football house. They left out other important issues which were to be discussed in Tuesday’s meeting. This means the local football house will again spend another US$6,000 for them to convene an Executive Committee meeting to discuss the cardinal issues which were on yesterday’s agenda and not discussed. We are also told that the clubs have requested a meeting with the Executive Committee anytime soon.

A reliable source has revealed that meeting is called, the LFA will spend another US$6,000.

Liberia FA -Secretary General Isaac Montgomery

In total, the FA will spend US$18,000.00 in less than a month on three Executive Committee meetings.Note: Each member of the EC pockets US$500.00 each per sitting.US$400 for honorarium and 100 for transportation.

This is bad for a local FA that hugely survives on subvention from FIFA and CAF. Since his ascendency as GS, Montgomery, a seasoned-auditor has brought financial vibrancy at the football house which was under financial restriction from FIFA.The level of check and balances at the FA is so high and has since impressed FIFA and CAF.This has led to the two footballing governing authorities approving more projects for Liberia.Removing Montgomery to satisfy a certain few may just be dangerous for our football.
