Sekou Konneh dropped from Coach Kojo’s squad against

Lone Star’s next game against Congo Brazzaville in Group G of the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers preparation has started with the disclosure of the national team players for the match, head coach Thomas Kojo has named a 20-man squad that will travel to Brazzaville, Congo, for the encounter ahead of the crucial match .

Liberiasportsonline.com ,has observed at South Korean-based Sekou Konneh was the only foreign-based player dropped from Coach Kojo’s previous list of players for the DR Congo game. The 20-man squad, has team captain William Jebor.

Meanwhile attempt to speak with team coach of the national side , at the time of press was not fruitful on -why the youngster was drop from the squad in hasty manner ahead of a double headers encounter in an AFCON Qualifiers . But unconfirmed speculation has it , he was drop due to his performance from the Congo DR match . He was a highly resourceful players that was needed in the match but he from the bench with many fans expectation left to wonder of his quality .  A total 13 foreign-based players and 7 -seven local players from the domestic makes the list . The first leg between the two teams is October 11 at the Stade Alphonse Massemba Debat in Brazzaville,

This was also the same for South Korea-based Sekou Conneh. The 22-year-old, listed among 13 foreign-based players invited by national team Coach Thomas Kojo, was left on the bench as his side, Ansan Greeners, lost 0-1 against Asan Mugunghwa in the Korean League 2.

The 20-year-old Liberian international striker, Seku Conneh,  parted ways with the Holland second tier club FC Oss for the newly-formed American third division club Bethlehem Steel Football Club.

It can be recalled that during his time with FC Oss, Conneh appeared ten times in the first phase of the season and scored twice. He joined FC Oss following a single season with another Holland’s second tier club, Fortuna Sittard, where the Liberian netted nine times in 45 appearances. Before joining Fortuna Sittard and FC Oss, Conneh spent time with Ajax, RKC Waalwijk, and Almere City FC youth teams.

On Nov. 15, 2015, Conneh made his debut for the Liberia National Football Team as a substitute after 73 minutes for Spain-based William Jebor in the world cup qualifying match against Côte D’Ivoire.

Bethlehem Steel FC is an American professional soccer team based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Founded in 2015, the team plays in the United Soccer League or USL, the third tier of American soccer. The USL is a professional men’s soccer league spanning the United States and Canada that began its inaugural season in 2011. The third division league is below both the Major League Soccer (Division I) and the North American Soccer League (Division II).

According to the LFA, the foreign-based players’ invitations were sent to their clubs weeks ago and received a positive response.

The invited players include Anthony Snoti Laffor, Boison Wynney de Souza, Joel Johnson, Adolphus Marshall, Murphy Dorley, Sam Johnson, Kpah Sherman, Sylvanus Nimely, Tonia Tisdell, Terrence Tisdell, Allen Njie, and expected debutant Mohammed Sangare.

Local players include goalkeepers Ashley Williams and Tommy Songo, Kemoh Kamara, Teah Dennis, Alvin Maccornel, Aloysius Simujla, and Saah Nyumah. The return leg in Monrovia on October 16 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.
