Monrovia- Liberia’s U-20 team has made it to the semi-finals of the ongoing 2018 WAFU U-20 after whipping next door neighbor Sierra Leone in their last group match today at the ATS .
The match ended 5-1 surprise scoreline in-front of an ecstatic Liberia fans and President George Weah at the ATS ,in Monrovia ,an emphatic win over Sierra Leone.Liberia ended the 1st half with a 2-1 -goals from Sekou Sherrif of LISCR FC and Bae Mountain Musa Kebe , started the demolition from the U-20 Lonestars in-front of President Weah .
Back from recess ,Liberia took a relax composure but the visitors pushed their way but could not salvage any gains. It was Liberia U-20 who took the game to the visitors , Goals from Musa Kebe and goals from Sheku Sheriff and Chauncey Freeman in the half was enough to sealed Liberia’s U-20 semi-final qualification .Musa Kebe a scored a hat-trick and also took a signature football home .
Chief Patron of Sports President George Manneh Weah presence this time around inspired the young players , to push for a place in secure the semifinal.Hat trick hero and the highest goals scorer in the 2018 WAFU U-20 Tournament so far Musa Kebe of Liberia won the Sergio Player of the Match Award.
President George Manneh Weah also presented the Man of the Match Award to Musa Kebe ,and Weah told reporters after the game he was excited by the win.”am excited about the win”, hope Liberia continue this good performance he added .
In a related development in Group B , the tournament giants so far , Ivory Coast registered another emphatic victory in the tournament at SKD Sports Complex outside Monrovia with a 4-0 win over Guinea Bissau .
