World Girls clinches 1st title with $145,500 Liberia dollars

From all indications, the woman football league will be filled next season with power-pack action from the performance and quality of woman players seen in the preseason tournament. One club that has brought some level of competitiveness is World Girls .

The team lead by the Liberia’s U-20 striker who played a vital role, as World Girls,clinched their first ever title on Wednesday 21st October 2020 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Central Monrovia.

Lucy Kikeh with an outstanding performance in the local league to ensure her side prevail in the Liberia Football Association preseason tournament which took place at the ATS. Kikeh scored a stunning- second- half goal as World Girls defeated defending Women’s League Champions Earth Angels 2-1 in a mouthwatering encounter. The First half of the match ended 1-1 and both sides needed an individual brilliance to be crowned champions, and it was Kikeh who rose to the occasion like she did against star studed Determine Girls on Monday.

World Girls technical team was also apparently grateful to Sierra Leonean duo Rashidatu Kamara and Zianu Macaulay who performed superbly throughout the tournament.Playing for the first time in the league, Macauley composure, touches and passes were overwhelming.

The makes clear that the team is out to chase more trophies for the season and will capitalize on all to clinched on victory in all tournament for the season from their composure in the preseason matches.

As usual, Liberia U-17 team Captain Lauretta Sackie never disappoints on such occasion.She was commanding against both the Angels and Determine Girls sides that are made of some of the league best strikers.World Girls took home $145,500 Liberia dollars as cash prize.
